![]() ![]() The only two characters I can think of are the ones for “a” (一, usually yī, but sometimes yí), and “not” (不), which is usually bù but sometimes bú. In a few (but very commonly occurring) cases, a character might change tone depending on the tone of the character coming after it. Every character has one standard pronunciation. ![]() The pronunciation of Mandarin Chinese is almost completely standardised (well, there might be exceptions or irregularities, but they’re in the minority).
